Our Engagement - 30 Oct 2010

Cecilia knew that the third long distance was for their future together. Cecilia also knew that Willy was different from many others and had high aspiration. Cecilia trusted Willy to be loyal as always. So she told him that she would wait for him.

Willy also knew that Cecilia was very sincere, and he also wanted to show her how sincere and serious he was to her. Secretly he was shopping for the diamond ring and organising with his friends to deliver a surprise proposal that what she could say would only be YES!

Service to God

Willy had been singing in St. Andrews Church (SAC) choir for 2 years already. When he knew that SAC was recruiting singers for the fund raising concert, he wanted to be in. He also wanted Cecilia who loved singing to be in too. Out of love of music and Willy, she went to the audition and joined the SAC choir for the first time, committing many Sunday afternoons to sing for charity.

Behind the scene

With the help of a long time friend who was in-the-know on diamond, Willy was well equipped to propose when the right moment came!

Secretly, Willy called his and her friends to join the concert, not only for the music and the charitable cause, but also for witnessing a very special moment for this 6 years old relationship to grow into the next stage. Together Willy and Cecilia were expecting 20 friends to be among the audience on 30 Oct 2010, the second concert.

On the Big DAY

Willy and Cecilia rehearsed before the concert as usual. Something odd happened in front of Cecilia's eyes when a fellow choir member asked Willy out to discuss something. During the intermission Cecilia asked him why, he just said that the band was inviting him to sing together in future (THAT'S A LIE!).

In fact, Willy had the honour of having the performing band agreeing to sing a song when he proposes! Nothing could be more romantic than having romantic live music when you propose!

The concert went on and ended with our friends coming forward to greet us. Willy however excused himself with some urgency and left Cecilia behind with our friends.

After 3 minutes, Willy emerged with a bunch of flowers. Everyone was excited, clapping their hands, saying "on your knees", "say yes", "wow ho". With the encouragement of the friends, Willy pulled out his precious stone to his precious one, went on his knee and Cecilia could only smile, cry and nod her head!

It didn't stop there, Cecilia's best friends whom she never expected suddenly appeared! Music also began! Cecilia found out that Willy had prepared a Hello Kitty cake (6lbs!) to celebrate this special occasion - with the cat she adored!

So, we engaged happily at the night on 30 October 2010, with the witnesses of our dear friends and God! THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF IT!

Whether or not you were in our engagement party, we look forward to seeing you all on 29 December 2012 - to celebrate our BIG day as well as our 100-month anniversary together!!
